COS Swim & Dive Wraps Up Season at 3C2A State Championships as Herrera Finishes 3rd in 1M Diving
COSTA MESA, Calif. – College of the Sequoias Swimming & Diving closed out the 2026 season at the 3C2A State Championships, held April 30-May 2 at Orange Coast College.
The COS men finished 13th overall with 115 points, while the women placed 17th with 77 points, highlighted by podium finishes, finals appearances, and strong relay performances.
Women's Performances
Reannon Herrera (Porterville HS) led the Giants on the boards, placing 3rd in the 1-meter diving event with 243.05 points and fifth in the 3-meter diving event with 200.50 points.
In the pool, Ellie Lambert (Golden West HS) scored in three events, placing 11th in the 50 free (24.70), seventh in the 100 fly (59.36), and seventh in the 100 free (54.25).
Kenzie Hyder (Porterville HS) added points in the distance events, finishing 16th in the 200 free (2:02.34) and 16th in the 1650 free (19:56.09). She also competed in the 500 free, finishing prelims in 5:42.79.
The women's 200 free relay team of Lambert, Lauren Pelayo (El Diamante HS), Haru Barajas (Porterville HS), and Hyder placed 15th in 1:43.26.
Men's Performances
The COS men were led by Tanner Lopez (Mt. Whitney HS), who scored in both freestyle events. Lopez placed seventh in the 50 free (21.10) and sixth in the 100 free (45.89).
Brendan Meyer (Lemoore HS) added points in the 50 free, finishing 12th in 21.12.
Trent Regier (Kingsburg HS) scored in both butterfly events, placing ninth in the 100 fly (50.45) and 15th in the 200 fly (2:01.24).
On the boards, Scott Dutcher (Reedley HS) capped off his season with two scoring finishes, placing fourth in the 3-meter diving event with 202.10 points and sixth in the 1-meter diving event with 205.05 points.
The Giants also scored in four relays. The 200 free relay team of Lopez, Taylor Greene (El Diamante HS), Adam Judson (Redwood HS), and Meyer placed 12th in 1:26.42. The 400 medley relay team of Quinn Rea (Mt. Whitney HS), Greene, Regier, and Lopez was 12th in 3:33.84. The 200 medley relay team of Meyer, Greene, Regier, and Lopez took 10th in 1:34.94, while the 400 free relay team of Lopez, Rea, Connor Rohman (Kingsburg HS), and Meyer finished 11th in 3:09.64.
