College of the Sequoias Diving Claims CVC Titles, Sends Herrera & Dutcher to State
VISALIA, Calif. – College of the Sequoias diving continued its strong postseason run as the Giants claimed multiple conference titles and secured state meet qualifications at the Central Valley Conference Diving Championships and NorCal Diving Qualifiers.
Both Scott Dutcher and Reannon Herrera delivered championship-level performances, each sweeping their respective events at the conference level and earning top finishes at NorCal to punch their tickets to the 3C2A State Championships.
WOMEN'S DIVING
On the women's side, sophomore Reannon Herrera (Porterville HS) led the way for the COS women's, sweeping the CVC titles in both the 1-meter and 3-meter events.
At NorCal, Herrera placed 4th in the 1-meter with a score of 209.15, earning her spot at the state meet. She followed with a 5th-place finish on the 3-meter (200.25), securing her second state qualification.
Herrera's performances continue to anchor the COS women's diving program, showcasing her ability to compete at a high level on both boards.
MEN'S DIVING
Sophomore Scott Dutcher (Reedley HS) also capturing the Central Valley Conference title in both the 1-meter and 3-meter events.
At the NorCal Diving Championships, Dutcher placed 4th in the 1-meter with a score of 179.15, securing a state berth. He followed with another strong showing on the 3-meter board, finishing 3rd overall with a score of 202.30, again qualifying for the state meet.
Dutcher's consistency across both boards highlighted a dominant postseason performance and positions him as one of the top divers heading into the state championships.
UP NEXT
College of the Sequoias Swimming & Diving now turns its attention to the Central Valley Conference Swimming Championships, set for Thursday, April 16 through Saturday, April 18 at Merced College.
With strong momentum from the diving events, the Giants will look to carry that success into the pool as they compete for conference titles and additional state-qualifying performances.
Dutcher and Herrera will then represent COS at the 3C2A State Championships, scheduled for May 1–3 at Santa Rosa Junior College.
