College of the Sequoias' Cameron Kelly named CVC MVP, while 7 others are named to All-Conference teams
VISALIA, Calif. – After capturing a share of the Central Valley Conference Championship with a 13-1 league record, College of the Sequoias men's basketball was heavily represented in the 2025-26 Central Valley Conference postseason awards. Cameron Kelly was named the conference Most Valuable Player, Head Coach Dallas Jensen earned Co-Coach of the Year honors, and the Giants placed seven student-athletes receive All-Conference honors.
Kelly headlines Sequoias' honorees after great conference play, where he averaged 19.1 points and 6.4 rebounds per game while shooting 50.7 percent from the field. He totaled 268 points in 14 conference games and was also selected to the All-Defensive First Team, leading the Giants on both ends of the floor during their championship run.
Joining Kelly on the All-Conference First Team were Mason Dorsey (Los Angeles), Kion Hayes and Kareem Barnett. Dorsey averaged 11.1 points, 9.4 rebounds and 8.6 assists per game in conference play, finishing with 121 assists and 37 steals in league games while also earning All-Defensive Honorable Mention recognition. Hayes averaged 8.8 points per game in conference action and shot 34.9% from three to stretch opposing defenses. Barnett averaged 11.0 points per game in conference play and was named to the All-Defensive First Team for his impact on the perimeter.
Zaquien Whitehead earned All-Conference Honorable Mention honors and was selected to the All-Defensive First Team after averaging 6.7 rebounds per game in league play and averaging 2.2 blockers per game, anchoring the interior defense. Jayden Abuyen added All-Defensive Honorable Mention recognition after averaging 2.6 steals per game in conference play, while freshman Javon Bragg was named to the All-Freshman Team after averaging 8.6 points and 6.9 rebounds per game in conference play while shooting 54.5 percent from the field.
Jensen guided Sequoias to a 13-1 conference mark while the team held league opponents to 37.1 percent shooting and just 57.6 points per game, establishing the Giants as one of the conference's most complete teams.
Sequoias (22-6) earned the No. 11 seed in the Northern California Regional Playoffs and will host No. 22 seed San Joaquin Delta College on Wednesday at 7 p.m. The winner will advance to face No. 6 seed Yuba College on Saturday at 7 p.m. in the second round.
The Central Valley Conference awards and postseason berth cap a dominant league campaign for the Giants, who now shift their focus toward extending their season in regional play.
