The Giants football team traveled to Quincy California on Saturday, September 1st as they took on the Feather River Golden Eagles in a losing effort as Feather River came out on top by a final score of 41-6.
Feather River opened up the scoring with a 20-yard touchdown pass from Quarterback Jalen Dummett to receiver Damario Portill in the 1st quarter that help put the Golden Eagles up 7-0. The Giants would later answer back with a touchdown of their own in the 1st quarter on a 32-yard touchdown pass from Quarterback Ryan Johnson to Bre'Aun Heights. The Golden Eagles led 7-6 after the 1st quarter ended.
The Golden Eagles added to their lead in the 2nd quarter as Running-back Jaiden Jones scored on a 5-yard touchdown run. The Golden Eagles never looked back as they would go on to win 41-6, led by Dummett, who finished with 145 yards in the air with 2 touchdown passes, and Jones, who finished with 90 yards on the ground. Portill led all receivers with 94 receiving yards.
For the Giants, Quarterback Ryan Johnson finished with 111 passing yards and a touchdown pass while Running-back Davonte Green finished with 84 yards on 14 carries. Jerome Smith led the defense with 9 tackles.
The Giants will next play Chabot College in the Giants home opener on Saturday, September 8th at 7:00 p.m.
